                   So, whether you prefer a focused one-on-one session, or you have 2-5 students you're thinking of taking classes together, we can accommodate the requests as long as we have available time slots. And yes, pricing varies accordingly.

Topics include:

1. Grammar Basics I - Foundational elements like parts of speech, capitalization, punctuation and sentence structures.

2. Grammar Basics II - Build upon basic grammar with Subject-Verb agreement, Active-Passive Voice, Clauses and construction of Higher Order sentences. 

3. Vocabulary Study Techniques - Techniques of learning new words and making it fun! Work on the most important vocabulary lists for academic success.

4. Comprehension Skills -  Whether it be multiple choice questions or inference for open-ended questions, one gets it right when one understands what is read. Learn the techniques of mentally dissecting passages and understanding the topics.

5. Fundamentals of Writing - Whoever writes it best gets it right - and everyone writes in their own style. Discover your own style and learn how to use writing techniques to become a stronger writer.

6. Essay Writing - Descriptive, Narrative, Argumentative, Persuasive... learn the different styles and how to do it.

7. Discussing Poetry - It's beauty in words that's lost on many. Learn to not only read and understand poetry, but analyze the literal vs. the figurative. Learn to make connections from the poet's thoughts and intentions to the real world. 

 

8. A.P. English Language and Composition - Understand, dissect and interpret high value prompts/ nonfiction passages to write knowledgeably, satisfying a challenging rubric on the College Board exam. Rhetorical, Argumentative, Synthesis styles of writing are practiced along with passages for comprehension, building the ability to take on multiple choice questions.

9. A.P. English Literature and Composition - Understand and analyze fiction, drama and poetry by some of the most famous writers of the past and present. Learn to interpret in context, considering time periods, literary and political movements and moments in history. 

 

10. Standardized English Exam Techniques (SAT/ ACT) - While colleges claim they are test-optional or test-blind, the SAT and the ACT are still forces to be reckoned with. The concepts, the techniques, the speed - elevate self-confidence for an optimum test performance.

11. College Essays/Personal Statements (Colleges/ Professional Colleges) - The College application process gives the students an opportunity to show who they are through their essays. Be prepared to make your voices heard better with stronger college essays. Figure out how to present your best self through your experiences and words while learning the techniques of writing an effective essay or personal statement.

12. Summer Internship Preparation - In person or virtual, internships pave the way for success. Be it unpaid volunteer hours, or paid experience, getting a position calls for confidence and skills. Learn research basics and interview techniques to land an internship and boost the chances of a promising future.

13. Building a Comprehensive College Plan - The road to success often runs through college. That's not a path which one treads lightly on. Plan ahead and prepare to have the best chance of getting into the college of your dreams. Learn how and what aspects are necessary and important. Work on laying the foundation, spacing and pacing both work and efforts through the high school years to reduce stress, and achieve those important goals!

14. Personality Development/ Social & Interview Skills - Academic success is only one part of the story. Personality and social skills go a long way in securing college spots, those coveted first jobs and comfort in navigating through social events both at and outside of the professional arena. English for College - Undergraduate and Graduate studies

 

 

 

 

Some of the topics include:

1. Literature Analysis - Shakespeare to Toni Morrison. Fiction - novel or short stories, while interesting, also present material for complex analysis. Learn the intricacies and techniques of decoding famous works.

Work on specific writers, if required.

2. Poetry Analysis - Go further in-depth into the wonderful world of poetry from around the world. Learn to analyze and write succinct critiques, highlighting both the techniques and the themes. Work on specific poets, if required.

3. Creative Writing - Learn to discover the inner writer. Whether it's an inborn talent or not, everyone has some story to tell, and a narrative style of their own. Is it just writing for college, or is there a budding author or poet in there, waiting to publish? 

4. Thesis work - You might be the best in your field, but maybe English was never your cup of tea. As your graduate/doctorate thesis finalized, make sure you present the best work - both subject-wise and language-wise. Follow the correct techniques of punctuation, effective sentence structures and the most effective way of writing.
